Job Title: Transmission Line Inspector
Location: Burlington, TX
Duration: 1 year (with strong possibility of extension or immediate transfer to the next project for candidates interested in continued travel)
Start Date: Immediate
Position Type: Full-time
Pay: DOE ($25+ hourly)
Hours: M-S (Sundays off) – to be agreed upon.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced **Transmission Line Inspector** to join our team in Burlington, TX. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in all phases of transmission line construction, with a strong emphasis on quality control, compliance, and safety. This role is critical to ensuring our projects are completed to the highest standards while maintaining rigorous safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections of transmission line construction activities, including foundation installation, framing, structure setting, and wire stringing.
- Verify that all work complies with project specifications, engineering drawings, industry standards (e.g., NESC, IEEE), and client requirements.
- Conduct daily safety observations and audits; enforce safety policies and stop work authority when necessary.
- Document inspection findings, take progress photos, and maintain accurate daily reports and records.
- Coordinate closely with construction crews, foremen, and project management to resolve quality or safety issues promptly.
- Monitor materials, equipment, and workmanship for defects or non-conformance.
- Ensure proper installation techniques and best practices are followed throughout all phases of construction.
- Participate in safety meetings and promote a strong safety-first culture on site.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of direct experience as a Transmission Line Inspector or in a similar quality/safety role on transmission line projects. (will train the right applicant)
- Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with:
- Foundation installation (drilled piers, direct embed, etc.)
- Structure framing and erection
- Structure setting and plumbing
- Conductor and shield wire stringing, sagging, and clipping
- Proven commitment to safety with current certifications preferred (e.g., OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, CDL if applicable).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license (Motor vehicle record will be checked)
-Willingness and ability to work in outdoor/field conditions.
- Physically fit and capable of working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
