Become a part of our talented dteq team, as we look for a Transport Engineer in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Key responsibilities:

• Specific planning and execution of Heavy Lift / OOG for onshore and offshore transportation
• Execution of state-of-the-art and professional route, port & site surveys
• Carry out feasibility studies, considering different modes of transport such as but not limited to barge and HLV shipments and onshore transportation
• Issuing Stowage- and Lashing plans for offshore transportation
• Issuing onshore transport arrangements, installation drawings as well as lifting and rigging plans using AutoCAD
• Issuing the related lashing calculations plans and calculations
• Production of Technical Proposals and Method Statements
• Provide subject matter expertise for onshore and offshore transport engineering tasks
• Review and assessment of Stowage- and Lashing plans and related calculations from others
• Maintaining qualified communication and build up professional relationship with dteq clients
• Cultivating and supporting relationships within the deugro group companies
• Reports to the Regional Operations Manager
• Works in many disciplinary fields with a wide range of heavy equipment
• Supervision / Operational attendance for cargo handling and transport activities in the ME region
• Maintenance of databases and project documentation
• Support for RFQs, providing technical solutions while considering commercial aspects

Skills, knowledge and expertise:

• At least 3 years of experience as a transport engineer or in a similar role in the heavy transport industry
• In-depth knowledge in Heavy Transport activities, including RoRo and ballasting of barges
• Solid understanding about actual applicable industry standards (e.g. DNV GL ST-N001, IMO CSS etc. etc.)
• Working experience with AutoCAD and proficient in MS Office / 365 and
• Hands-on and proactive working attitude, as well as a team player mindset
• Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
• Solution-driven way of working and ability to think outside the box
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Ability to travel, travel ratio about 25%
• Maintaining a respectful and productive work environment
