Position Summary:

The Logistics / Transport In-Charge will be responsible for end-to-end transport and logistics coordination, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and reliable movement of materials and finished goods. The role involves close coordination with internal teams, customers, Key Account Managers (KAMs), and external transport/logistics partners for domestic and international shipments.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:Transport & Dispatch Operations

  • Plan and arrange daily transport requirements for finished goods and raw material movements.
  • Ensure on-time dispatch of consignments as per production and customer schedules.
  • Track and monitor consignment dispatch and delivery status on a daily basis.
  • Ensure end-to-end follow-up until the consignment is successfully delivered at the customer location.

Cost Optimization & Control

  • Identify and implement transport cost-saving opportunities without compromising service levels.
  • Negotiate freight rates with transporters and logistics partners.
  • Optimize vehicle selection, route planning, and delivery timelines for cost and efficiency.

Internal & External Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with Production, Stores, Planning, Finance, and Sales/KAM teams for effective transport planning.
  • Communicate dispatch details and delivery timelines clearly to internal stakeholders and sales teams.
  • Maintain strong coordination with external transporters, logistics vendors, courier partners, and freight forwarders.

Customer & KAM Communication

  • Provide accurate and timely dispatch and delivery updates to customers and Key Account Managers.
  • Proactively address delivery delays or issues and ensure quick resolution.
  • Maintain a professional communication flow to enhance customer satisfaction and trust.

Material Movement & Vendor Coordination

  • Arrange vehicles for material pickup and drop from vendors, suppliers, and job-workers.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance for material movement.
  • Monitor transporter performance and service quality.

Import & Export Logistics

  • Coordinate import and export shipments including documentation, freight booking, and timelines.
  • Arrange logistics for Road, Sea, and Air shipments as per business requirements.
  • Liaise with CHA, freight forwarders, and logistics partners for smooth customs clearance and delivery.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain daily dispatch, delivery, and freight cost records.
  • Share periodic logistics MIS reports with management.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and customer documentation requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Graduate degree preferred (Logistics / Supply Chain / Commerce / Management).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in transport management and logistics coordination.
  • Industry Exposure: Experience in manufacturing, packaging, or FMCG logistics will be an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of transport operations and freight management.
  • Proven ability in cost optimization and vendor negotiation.
  • Excellent coordination and follow-up skills.
  • Good understanding of domestic and international logistics (road, sea, air).
  • Effective communication skills in English and Hindi (Tamil proficiency will be an advantage).
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple dispatches daily.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, email communication, and basic ERP systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
