Position Summary

Whitewood Transport Inc. is seeking a motivated and results-driven Transportation Specialist to join our growing team. This is a full-time position focused on developing customer relationships, sourcing and pricing freight, and expanding our customer base.

The ideal candidate understands the complexities of oversized transportation, enjoys building relationships, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and customer service are critical to success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, quote, and secure freight opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers while actively pursuing new business through phone calls, customer visits, networking, and industry outreach
  • Verify freight specifications, including weights, dimensions, loading requirements, and delivery schedules
  • Coordinate with drivers, dispatch, and equipment providers to ensure successful execution of shipments
  • Assist with route planning and compliance with state and local oversize/overweight regulations
  • Monitor shipments and proactively communicate updates to customers
  • Maintain accurate customer and shipment records within transportation management systems

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of heavy haul transportation, permitting, pilot car requirements
  • Proven sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work collaboratively with customers, drivers, dispatchers, and operations personnel
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred but not required

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in any of the following industries are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • Heavy haul transportation
  • Freight brokerage
  • Trucking and logistics
  • Oil and gas
  • Construction and heavy equipment
  • Mining
  • Manufacturing
  • CDL driving or owner-operator experience

A current book of business and established customer relationships are highly preferred.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
