Transportation Dispatcher

JOB DESCRIPTION

Manage the transportation of customer’s product in a safe and efficient manner following all company rules and DOT regulations. Assign workload to drivers, monitor product movements, and resolve delivery and scheduling issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Effectively communicate with customers and brokers on a regular and timely basis regarding issues impacting their service expectations.

· Track drivers to ensure appointment times are being met and update customers & brokers.

· Monitor drivers’ hours of service to prevent DOT violations.

· Input data into the P&B Trucking Transportation Management Systems to include scheduled shipments, updated drivers’ pickup and delivery times, and enter trailer numbers for the next day.

· Find backhauls & headhauls for unbooked trucks.

· Print drivers dispatch paperwork and matchup load paperwork for the following day.

· Answer phone calls and reply to emails.

· Send out an updated list of available trucks to brokers.

· Request detention from customers and brokers & replace the old confirmations with the updated confirmations for any detention, layover, and lumper charges.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a strong attention to detail.
• Data entry efficiency.
• Customer service experience.
• Strong attendance background.

SCHEDULE

• 8 hour day shift

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
