Transportation Dispatcher (Driver Support)

Overview

Tansect is looking for a Transportation Dispatcher to support our drivers as they execute routes across the country. This role is less about telling drivers where to go and more about helping them navigate the unexpected. You'll be the primary point of contact when drivers need support, coordinating solutions, communicating updates, and escalating operational issues so our drivers can stay focused on serving our customers safely and efficiently.

No two days look exactly the same. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, communicating with people, staying organized under pressure, and keeping multiple priorities moving throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Communicate pickup, delivery, and schedule information to drivers
• Provide updates regarding delays, operational changes, or service issues
• Serve as a primary point of contact for drivers during assigned shifts
• Monitor load progress and communicate updates internally
• Assist with dispatch activities and daily operational coordination
• Help troubleshoot operational or scheduling issues as they arise
• Confirm drivers are utilizing correct trailers and dock door assignments
• Maintain accurate communication logs and operational records
• Work closely with the Logistics Coordinator and facility supervisors to support daily transportation operations

Experience

• Experience dispatching service technicians (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, field service, etc.), coordinating schedules, or supporting transportation operations is highly valued. Prior trucking experience is helpful but not required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• Comfortable handling time-sensitive situations professionally
• Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office programs

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
