Transportation Driver (Must be CNA)

Job Summary

The Nursing Home Transportation Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents to and from medical appointments, social outings, and other scheduled activities. This role ensures the comfort, safety, and dignity of elderly passengers while maintaining a reliable and courteous service.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport Residents: Drive residents to medical appointments, therapy sessions, shopping trips, and recreational outings.
• Assist Passengers: Help residents in and out of the vehicle, including those with mobility aids such as wheelchairs or walkers.
• Route Planning: Determine the most efficient and safe routes to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine checks and ensure the vehicle is clean, fueled, and in good working condition.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of mileage, trip logs, maintenance, and any incidents.
• Communication: Coordinate with nursing home staff and families regarding schedules and special transportation needs.
• Emergency Handling: Respond calmly and appropriately to any medical or vehicle emergencies during transport.

Qualifications

• ✅ Valid state driver’s license (CDL may be required depending on vehicle size)
• ✅ Clean driving record
• ✅ CPR and First Aid certification (preferred or required by some employers)
• ✅ Ability to lift and assist with mobility devices
• ✅ Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals is a plus
• ✅ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• ✅ Certified Nurses Aide in state of Texas

Work Environment

• May involve early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays
• Frequent interaction with elderly individuals, some with cognitive or physical impairments
• Driving in various weather and traffic conditions

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
