Reporting to the Purchasing and Campus Logistics Director, the Transportation Logistics Specialist is responsible for management of transportation needs at the School. This includes management of the school fleet of vehicles, supervision of school-employed bus drivers, being the primary contact for outsourced transportation vendors; and overall travel coordination for school trips and business or professional development requiring travel. This position does not exercise independent purchasing authority or contract negotiation authority but supports procurement processes under the direction of the Purchasing and Campus Logistics Director.
Specifically, areas of responsibilities will include:
· Managing school bus routes and rosters, increasing efficiency and ensuring accurate data from all transportation systems;
· Managing communication with transportation service provider(s), troubleshooting issues with buses or riders daily, and ensuring appropriate quality and timeliness;
· Managing outsourced vendors to augment transportation needs;
· Providing excellent customer service and flexibility to address transportation needs of teachers and coaches at the school;
· Ensuring the bus fleet is properly maintained and insured;
· Creating processes for check-in and check-out of school-owned vehicles to authorized drivers;
· Coordinating with HR and insurance for proper coverage of drivers on the school’s policy;
· Supervising bus drivers and providing guidance and coaching as necessary to appropriately represent the school while in route and at destinations.
· Serving as the point of contact for logistical needs for school trips, including reviewing and procuring appropriate transportation;
· Providing assistance to trip sponsors to help build budgets for proposals and reconciling trip expenses;
· Managing the school’s preferred portal for travel (currently myRIVA) and assisting employees in making arrangements for business or professional development that requires travel.
The position may perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the school leadership and/or direct supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position or responsive to the emergent needs of the school.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
