Neier, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Night Dispatcher. This position reports directly to the Director of Transportation and the hours for the position are Sunday 8:00pm – Friday 6:00am with rotating on-call weekend hours. The ideal candidate for this position is an individual with a proven track record of successfully working independently, but recognizing the importance of communicating effectively both up and down the chain of command.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
- Ability to work independently. The individual in this position must be self-motivated with a strong ability to solve problems.
- Strong communication skills are imperative. In addition to communicating with fellow dispatch team members, the Night Dispatcher can anticipate working with various other departments within the organization such as Human Resources and Safety & Compliance.
- This position corresponds with customers communicating any delays that may arise overnight.
- This position must effectively communicate with drivers. The Night Dispatcher should have familiarity with Department of Transportation Regulations; specifically regarding Hours of Service, Hazmat, and load paperwork.
- Attention to details. Reviewing driver and load information to make sure customer portals are updated correctly.
- Must have strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office Suites.
- Familiarity with GeoTab and Luma Learning are also beneficial.
- Previous Dispatch Experience. Previous experience working in a fast-paced transportation environment is preferred.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicating with customers about any load problems or driver delays
- Assist drivers with on-the-road repair calls and engage our maintenance partners when needed.
- Issue Money Codes through EFS
- Respond to all customer and driver calls/e-mails in a timely manner
- Conduct on-site lot inventory for both company-owned equipment as well as customer trailers that are utilizing our 10 Day Storage Facility.
- Update customer portals in a timely manner to reflect accurate load completion information.
- On-call weekend rotation. On-call hours are every third weekend.
