POSITION: Transportation Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities and Operations
QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma
-
Five years of experience in transportation
-
Valid CDL with S and P endorsements
-
Valid Transportation Supervisor Card or the ability to obtain within 90 days
-
Self-motivated and able to function under pressure in a calm, positive manner
-
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Develop and administer a transportation program to meet all the requirements of the daily instructional program and extracurricular activities
-
Assist in resolving issues occurring on school buses
-
Supervise bus drivers
-
Complete payroll and trip logs
-
Monitor and respond to radio and phone calls during routes
-
Work closely with the school buildings to implement proper action to be taken in implementing school district policy
-
Act as liaison for parents and special requests
-
Collaborate with school principals and others responsible for planning special school trips
-
Prepare and update bus routes and schedules for the district
-
Maintain records, including driver schedules, route information, vehicle maintenance, and student rosters
-
Recruit, train, and supervise all transportation personnel, and make recommendations on employment, transfer, promotion, release, and evaluations
-
Work with mechanic(s) to maintain and provide a preventative maintenance program for all vehicles
-
Develop recommendations for future equipment and personnel needs
-
Authorize purchases in accordance with budgetary limitations and district rules
-
Maintain safety standards in conformance with state and insurance regulations and develop a program of preventive safety
-
Conform with all state laws and regulations regarding school transportation
-
Complete or assist in all required reports for state and insurance
-
Work with the Director of Facilities and Operations on making recommendations to the Superintendent for closing school during inclement weather
-
Attend appropriate district committee and staff meetings, regional and state meetings
-
Investigate accidents and evaluate drivers
-
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Operations or Superintendent
SALARY & BENEFITS:
-
$59,054 - $63,873 depending on experience
-
$500 annual cell phone stipend
-

Longevity pay, once eligible
