Position Summary:

The Transportation Support Analyst supports the district’s transportation services, including athletics, field trips, and special programs. This role ensures smooth coordination of these trips, provides staff training and support for transportation systems, and delivers exceptional customer service to families and schools. Working closely with school leaders and under the direction of the Director of Transportation, this role helps optimize operations, supports special projects, and contributes to data-informed decision-making.

What You'll Be Doing: (Responsibilities)

Trip Coordination & Logistics

  • Coordinate transportation requests, as requests.
  • Collaborate with school leaders, athletic departments, and staff to ensure trips are scheduled efficiently and in alignment with district policies.
  • Analyze trip volume and scheduling compression.

Technology & Staff Support

  • Support staff in accessing and using transportation-related technology systems (e.g., routing software, parent portals, bus tracking tools).
  • Contribute to staff training efforts and assist with troubleshooting technical issues.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Respond to transportation-related inquiries via phone and email, providing timely and professional support to families, staff, and schools.
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of customer service across the transportation team.
  • Assist in guiding part-time customer service staff and ensuring consistent communication practices.

Data & Operations Optimization

  • Maintain accurate records and ensures compliance with Transportation guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Transportation and other team members to improve efficiency and service delivery.
  • Maintain awareness of federal, state, and district transportation policies and procedures.

Project Support

  • Coordinate and support special transportation projects and initiatives.
  • Superior excel and data tracking expertise.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to transportation operations as needed.

To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To: (Qualifications)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to resolve issues promptly.
  • Ability to maintain operation transportation software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late evenings.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in school district operations or transportation coordination.
  • Prior experience training staff or supporting technology systems.
  • Familiarity with state and federal transportation regulations.
  • Background in customer service or administrative support.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Physical Demands:

This job requires that the employee be able to: sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, and reach with hands and fingers; bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least ten pounds. Job requires the employee occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Visual ability requires mono and color vision, close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
