Transportation Support Specialist

Summary: Responsible for providing clerical support to achieve the goals of the office and for transporting consumers as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the agency

• Provides clerical support to the transportation department and staff as directed.
• Processes Medicaid transportation referrals and trips in accordance with direction and regulations
• Coordinates the scheduling of transportation activities as needed
• Documents all service activities in a complete accurate and timely manner according to requirements of regulatory bodies and Westbrook policy. Maintains daily logs and records.
• Transports clients in an agency vehicle to and from services
• Assists with scheduling maintenance/repairs
• Completes billing as needed
• Complies with federal, state and company policies, procedures and regulations
• Maintains confidentiality of all information and complies with HIPAA regulations
• Demonstrates knowledge of and supports Westbrook Health Services mission, vision, values, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards and code of ethical behavior.

Qualification Requirements:

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Able to use basic office machines such as typewriter, computer system with programmed accounting software; calculators and fax machine.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately with a variety of individuals in order to convey and received information effectively.
• Must work well in a team environment
• Work with staff, consumers and others in a professional, cooperative ethical respectful and effective manner.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED; prior computer/PC experience using computerized scheduling and billing systems is preferred, but not required.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean MVR record check.
• Must pass Criminal Investigation Background and DHHR background checks.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Mobility and ability to sit for long periods of time use a standard computer keyboard, bend, reach and lifts up to 50 pounds are required in this position.
