Job Summary and Qualifications

The transporter / Clerk performs a variety of technical procedures that require rational independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative in performing with and assisting Radiologic Technologist(s) with basic departmental functions and goals. Responsible for safely transporting patients to and from the department.

What you will do in this role:

  • Completes assignments in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates professional behavior and etiquette in all interactions with physicians, mangers, coworkers, and patients.
  • Demonstrates accuracy completing physicians’ orders in Meditech and maintains a knowledge base related to computers.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of telephone system, telephone etiquette, and proper telephone transfer.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of scheduling patients.
  • Demonstrates accuracy in film file duties.
  • Demonstrates appropriate communication skills.
  • Promotes a positive image of the Radiology department.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge in calling and responding to the facility’s codes.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of location and use of VRMC policy and procedure manuals, and MSDS sheets.
