Travel Pharmacist

Position overview

Highland Pharmacy is hiring a dynamic and licensed Travelling Pharmacist to serve as a vital resource across our network of pharmacy locations throughout New Mexico. In this role, you will travel to our stores statewide to cover shifts, ensure consistent patient care, and maintain the high standards Highland Pharmacy is known for. A company vehicle is provided for all work-related travel, and you will be fully compensated for your time on the road.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to Highland Pharmacy network stores across New Mexico to cover scheduled and unscheduled pharmacist shifts, ensuring uninterrupted patient care and store operations.
• Dispense medications accurately and counsel patients on proper drug usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions in compliance with New Mexico Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Conduct monthly telepharmacy inspections across designated Highland Pharmacy locations, reviewing compliance, workflow, documentation, and remote dispensing protocols.
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and store managers at each location to maintain smooth shift transitions and consistent operational standards.
• Review and verify prescription orders, process insurance claims, and maintain accurate patient medication records at each visited site.
• Report findings from telepharmacy inspections to pharmacy management and recommend corrective actions where needed.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all network locations at all times.

Pay: $75.00 - $80.00 per hour
