Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a day shift travel assignment at a 25-bed critical access hospital, with first-time travelers welcome.

Details

• 25-bed critical access hospital setting
• Work across multiple care areas including Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, NICU, and Pediatrics
• Day shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
• On-call required from end of shift at 7:00 PM through the start of the next scheduled shift; call may be handled virtually (e.g., fielding questions about CPAP/BiPAP settings) but hands-on presence in the ER or acute care setting may be required
• Floating to different units is required
• No specific EMR/charting system required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• MO RRT State License required — license required if applicable
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and NBRC (RRT or CRT)
• Minimum 1–2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, IMV, and SIMV
• Experience with airway management including ET tube, tracheostomy care, intubation assist, and extubation
• Experience with arterial blood gas (ABG) drawing and interpretation
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric respiratory equipment including bubble CPAP and oscillating ventilators
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Valid driver's license (DL) required for consideration
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
• Facility housing is available at a reduced rate
• Provide respiratory therapy services across adult critical care, emergency, and neonatal/pediatric settings
• Administer and monitor a broad range of inhaled medications including albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, and others
• Manage patients with conditions such as ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, RSV, and respiratory distress syndrome
• Perform pulmonary function tasks including oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and patient transport (inter-departmental and ambulance)
• Any time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application; requests made after submission will not be approved
• Background check required; facility is considered lenient on a case-by-case basis
