Treasury Management Officer

Summary

This position is responsible for promoting the bank’s Treasury Management program by creating opportunities in new and existing markets and strengthening existing relationships through excellent customer service. Extensive knowledge of all business deposit accounts and treasury management products and services as well as the ability to install, support and troubleshoot hardware associated with treasury management systems will be critical for this role. This role also involves extensive travel between branches throughout the bank’s footprint, as well as meetings offsite at customers locations and reimbursable use of personal vehicle.

Essentail Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively promote, prospect, and cross-sell business deposit and treasury management products and services (including but not limited to Deposit Sweep Agreements, ACH Origination, Positive Pay, Desktop Remote Deposit Capture, Merchant Processing, Corporate Credit Cards, etc) to new and existing commercial customers
  • Build relationships with internal departments serving the treasury management customer base such as branch managers, commercial lenders and trust and investments.
  • Follow up on leads originated from internal and external sources regarding referrals for deposit accounts as well as both stand alone and packaged treasury management products and services
  • Identify customer needs and suggest solutions based on business type and complexity as well as volume of activity and specific customer interactions.
  • Gather information from prospective customers regarding existing banking and merchant relationships to assist in banking proposal preparation
  • Attend meetings with existing and prospective customers to present deposit and treasury management products and services, conducting system demos and walkthroughs and answering questions regarding system capabilities.
  • Coordinate with implementation and support teams to ensure smooth on-boarding, training, and ongoing support for treasury management products and services, ensuring that proper documentation and approvals have been obtained in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Participate in special customer outreach projects, previous examples of which include the business credit card conversion, ACH Token implementation and the external loan payments conversion.
  • Support local organizations involved in key community initiatives that align with the community bank mission and could provide additional opportunities
  • Understand and support all BSA/AML responsibilities as applicable to the position as well as consistently, accurately, and timely carry out these responsibilities in compliance with the Bank’s internal policies
  • Perform other related work and duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for success in this outbound role.
  • Prior banking and/or treasury management experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent job experience is required.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Must be willing to learn new systems and adapt to emerging technologies

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to analyze reports and communicate the results to others
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and release notes
  • Ability to write business correspondence using proper grammar and accurate spelling

REASONING ABILITY

  • Effective problem-solving skills that utilize both quantitative and qualitative information along with intuition
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Organizational, priority setting, and decision-making skills are also required

PHYSCIAL DEMANDS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate office equipment, telephones, etc.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • The employee must have reliable transportation to complete the travel requirements noted above.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
