We are seeking an experienced and reliable Over the Road Truck Driver to join our team based out of Pennsylvania.
As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for transporting freight across long distances while earning 20% of the weekly revenue generated by the truck. This position offers flexibility, the potential for high earnings, and support from a dedicated dispatcher who will manage load assignments for you. Fuel, insurance, and maintenance costs will be covered by the company. A valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Med Card) is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Long-Distance Driving: Transport freight across the continental U.S., ensuring timely and safe delivery.
  • Load Dispatching: A dedicated dispatcher will assign loads to you, ensuring efficient routing and load planning. You will be expected to communicate with the dispatcher regarding load updates and status.
  • Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle before and after each trip to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Load Handling: Safely load and unload goods, ensuring that cargo is properly secured to prevent damage.
  • Route Planning: While the dispatcher will provide the load details, you will also need to follow the assigned routes and ensure that deliveries are made on time and efficiently.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, fuel purchases, maintenance records, and other required paperwork (using electronic logging devices as required).
  • Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with dispatch and customers, updating them on delivery status.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety guidelines while driving and handling the vehicle.
  • Medical Exam: Ensure your Med Card is up to date, as this is required for operation of the vehicle.
  • Maintenance & Safety: Ensure the truck is well-maintained and operational, coordinating with maintenance teams for repairs when necessary.
  • Reporting: Submit weekly revenue reports and track expenses to monitor profitability.
