Responsibilities

• Safely operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks to deliver freight across multiple routes
• Load and unload cargo with precision, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight to prevent damage during transit
• Navigate route driving efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues promptly
• Operate specialized equipment such as forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading cargo in warehouse or yard settings

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver roles with route driving responsibilities
• Skilled in operating manual transmission vehicles and tractor-trailers with precision
• Knowledge of various truck types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
• Familiarity with load & unload procedures for freight handling across different truck configurations
• Ability to drive safely over long distances while maintaining focus on safety protocols
• Experience with forklift operation is a plus for efficient cargo handling
• Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance standards for commercial driving
