Truck Driver/Warehouse Assistant

The Food Bank of Siouxland is seeking to hire a Truck Driver/Warehouse Assistant. It’s a full time position, and does require that the applicant hold a Class B CDL. Food Bank of Siouxland is the leading year-round food source for nonprofit partner agencies.This position will help support our mission by providing service to agency partners, maintaining efficient operations and a safe warehouse. This position is focused on picking up donated product and delivering it to the Food Ban, delivering orders to Food Bank agency partners and providing general warehouse support.

Responsibilities:

1. Run pickup and delivery routes as assigned

2. To monitor the condition of Food Bank vehicle(s) and notify staff of needed service, repairs, etc.

3. To promote positive donor and member-agency relations by providing excellent customer service, accurately picking up and delivering products.

4. To maintain donations brought back to warehouse building.

• To assist warehouse with repacking goods, inventory, and filling orders.
• To assist warehouse with unloading deliveries to the building.

7. To help maintain building and grounds.

8. To perform other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Safe driving record; strong driving skills,
• Hold a valid motor vehicle operator’s license (Class B CDL or higher) with Air Brake Endorsement
• Maintain an acceptable driving record
• Outgoing and able to work well with others (including volunteers)
• Detail oriented, dependable and conscientious
• Organized, self-motivated and able to work to deadline
• Ability to lift at least 40-70 pounds

Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen (paid for by Food Bank), if requested.

Evaluation:

An annual performance review of the Truck Driver/Warehouse Assistant shall be conducted by the Executive Director and/or the Operations Director.

Compensation:

The Truck Driver/Warehouse Assistant is compensated on an hourly rate, for 40 hours a week. A typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am – 4:30pm with (1) ½ hour unpaid lunch break and (2) 15-minute paid breaks. (1) Saturday shift from 7am-10am (or so) every other month is also required. Benefits will be in accordance with the Employee Handbook.

Pay: $19.00 - $27.00 per hour
