Duties

• Coordinate daily dispatch activities for truck drivers and freight carriers to meet delivery schedules.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear and professional phone etiquette at all times.
• Utilize transportation management systems to schedule shipments, track freight movements, and update relevant data entry records accurately.
• Monitor fleet management systems to oversee vehicle status, maintenance schedules, and compliance with safety regulations.
• Plan transportation routes considering supply chain demands, traffic conditions, and delivery priorities using transportation planning tools.
• Maintain detailed logs of dispatch activities, shipment statuses, and incident reports while ensuring data accuracy in systems like AS400 or other logistics platforms.
• Collaborate with shipping & receiving teams to coordinate freight pick-up and delivery schedules efficiently within a 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) framework.
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, or service enhancements.

Skills

• Proficiency GPS navigation tools, and transportation management systems.
• Strong understanding of supply chain logistics, transportation planning, and freight operations.
• Excellent analysis skills for evaluating routing options, fleet utilization, and operational efficiency.
• Effective dispatching abilities combined with outstanding communication skills to coordinate multiple stakeholders seamlessly.
• Expertise in shipping & receiving procedures along with fleet management practices.
• Proficient in data entry with high accuracy using systems like AS400 or similar platforms; familiarity with multi-line phone systems is essential.
• Strong phone etiquette coupled with superior organizational skills including typing speed for quick documentation.
