Trucking Dispatcher Assistant

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Trucking Dispatcher Assistant to support daily fleet operations. This role assists the dispatcher with scheduling loads, communicating with drivers, tracking shipments, updating customers, and handling administrative tasks to keep freight moving efficiently. Ideal candidates are fast learners, calm under pressure, and strong communicators.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist dispatcher with daily load planning and scheduling
• Communicate with drivers regarding pickup/delivery times, route changes, and issues
• Track trucks and loads throughout the day using GPS/TMS systems
• Enter and update load information in dispatch software
• Call brokers, shippers, and receivers to confirm appointments and delivery status
• Help resolve delays, breakdowns, detention, lumper, and service issues
• Maintain accurate driver files, trip records, and dispatch notes
• Verify PODs (Proof of Delivery) and paperwork after each load
• Support payroll by organizing driver trips, mileage, and settlements
• Monitor emails, phone calls, and urgent requests throughout the day

Schedule

• Full-time MONDAY - FRIDAY 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

This is an entry-level position; however, candidates who bring proven, relevant experience to the table may be considered for higher starting pay based on qualifications. Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
