Chicago Program Director
True Lacrosse Foundation | Chicago, IL
The True Lacrosse Foundation is seeking a Chicago Program Director to lead and oversee our after-school lacrosse and academic programming across partner schools in Chicago.
This role requires a high-capacity, detail-oriented leader who can manage multiple program sites, lead staff, and deliver consistent, high-quality experiences for student-athletes. The Director will serve as the primary on-site leader and representative of the Foundation across all Chicago programming.
This is a fully in-person leadership role across the following partner sites:
- Austin College & Career Academy
- Catalyst Circle Rock Charter School
- Duke K. Ellington School
All program sites are located within close proximity, with each school within approximately one block of each other.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all Chicago-based after-school programming with consistency and professionalism
- Coach and mentor student-athletes while setting a strong standard for accountability and engagement
- Supervise, manage, and develop coaches, staff, and volunteers
- Own scheduling, logistics, and daily program execution across multiple sites
- Build and maintain strong relationships with school administrators and partners
- Ensure consistent implementation of Foundation curriculum and program standards
- Oversee attendance tracking, documentation, and incident reporting with attention to detail
- Support data collection, impact reporting, and program evaluation
- Uphold and enforce all safety protocols and organizational policies
The Chicago Program Director reports directly to the Executive Director.
Schedule & Compensation
- Monday–Thursday, 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM (in-person)
- Flexible virtual/administrative meetings throughout the week as needed
- Compensation: $25–$35 per hour, based on experience
- 11-week seasonal engagement
- Mileage reimbursement at the IRS standard rate
Programming dates may adjust slightly based on school calendars and operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of lacrosse playing and/or coaching experience
- Experience managing classrooms, student groups, or after-school programs
- Demonstrated experience leading teams, staff, or multi-site programs in a school, nonprofit, or athletic setting
- Experience in youth development or community-based programming, with a strong understanding of structured school environments
- Strong communication skills are required, with the ability to effectively engage students, staff, and school partners
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- High level of accountability, reliability, and professionalism — this role requires consistent in-person leadership
- Ability to problem-solve in real time and maintain structure in dynamic environments
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between program sites
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience managing after-school or school-based programs
- Experience working in underserved or under-resourced communities
- Background in nonprofit program management or operations
- Experience with data tracking, reporting, or program evaluation
