Truss Designer- Remote

Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Truss Designer & Estimator to join our growing team in Cedar Hill, TX. This full-time position is ideal for a professional with experience in structural wood design, material estimation, and proficiency with Alpine software. The ideal candidate combines technical accuracy with practical understanding of construction processes to deliver efficient, safe, and cost-effective truss solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design roof and floor trusses using Alpine software in compliance with structural and architectural specifications.
  • Review blueprints, construction drawings, and building codes to produce precise layouts and calculations.
  • Prepare complete material take-offs, labor estimates, and project cost summaries.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and production teams to ensure smooth transitions from design to fabrication.
  • Manage project revisions, design updates, and documentation with high accuracy and consistency.
  • Recommend value-engineering solutions to optimize material use and reduce costs.
  • Support the sales and estimating teams by preparing bids, proposals, and technical presentations when needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Alpine design software (required).
  • Solid knowledge of wood truss engineering, framing methods, and construction standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in truss design and estimation.
  • Degree or certification in Construction, Drafting, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • On-site framing or construction experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
