Turkey Research Technician

Prestage Farms is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Turkey Research Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage and maintain our turkey research facilities, ensuring biosecurity and conducting various technical tasks associated with turkey research. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of research facilities
• Break down, clean, and set up facilities in between flocks
• Program Feedlogic robot and manage feed schedule
• Perform record-keeping and data entry using Excel
• Weigh birds and monitor their growth
• Implement rodent control measures
• Uphold strict biosecurity protocols
• Manage flock health and oversee everyday flock management
• Work independently, often alone, ensuring integrity and honesty in all tasks
• May be asked to support Commercial Turkey Service Technicians at certain times
• Work with Allied Industry and Nutritional team to set up new trial Protocols
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, or a related field
• Proficiency in Excel and data management
• Willingness to work some weekends
• Strong attention to detail and good record-keeping skills
• Experience with biosecurity measures and rodent control is a plus
• Honesty and integrity are essential due to the nature of paid trials
