Tutor

The Friends of Foster Care is looking General Education Tutors (PK-College) that can provide academic support to at-risk youth. Classroom experience and a passion for helping students succeed is a must. Tutoring typically takes place after school, in-person. We offer great pay, heartwarming work and flex schedules year round.

Our tutoring program is top-notch with many success stories and praise for our tutors that go the extra mile to ensure that our youth thrive.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with accommodations
- Utilize learning technologies to enhance instruction and engage students
- Assess student progress and provide timely tutoring session reports

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification or license (or recently retired is acceptable)
- Experience working with students, preferably in a classroom setting
- Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and instructional techniques
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $36.00 - $40.00 per hour
