Tutor - Math and Science

The Job: We are seeking enthusiastic instructors who specialize in tutoring Math and Science to all students. Proficiency with classes: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Calculus (AB/BC) , Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology - ability to do AP level courses is a bonus, but not a requirement.

Calculus is a plus. The ability to tutor SAT/ACT is a bonus, but not a requirement.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or currently enrolled in a degree program leading to a bachelor’s degree
• 1+ years of previous tutoring experience is a plus
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work SOME of the following: Monday through Thursday from 3pm to 7pm and Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm
• Ability to commit to one semester with Tutoring Club

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

· Teach the lessons thoroughly enough that the student can competently complete their lessons confidently and independently.

· Assist with homework.

· Re-focus students if they get off task.

· Challenge students to reach academic goals.

· Availability during the school year (M-F After School at 3PM), and Saturday Mornings.

Special Knowledge/Skills – Optional but not required

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Proven to adapt to changes/program adjustments

Starting pay is between $11-$15 per hour and is based on experience and knowledge level.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
