Tutors (K-12)

Job Overview

Class Half Full Tutoring is celebrating our 11th (+) year as a private tutoring company in Chapel Hill/Carrboro (K-12) with a family feel! We are looking to interview tutors for the 2026-2027 school year. Tutors can be college-age students/grad students or anyone older who lives in Chapel Hill or Carrboro. PLEASE do not apply if you live elsewhere.

ALL materials/information are provided to the tutor before job begins.

We find students who match YOUR schedule.

Sessions are typically one hour and are usually held once a week per student but may vary. Sessions are held in the student's home with an adult in the house or sometimes at the public library.

• Tutors get paid every two weeks.
• We handle all payment/invoicing for you.
• You still get paid in full if your client "forgets" about a session or cancels too late!

We are looking for tutors for students in elementary, middle, and high school. Being able to tutor high school upper math/sciences and AP subjects is a big plus, but again, we are looking for tutors for all subjects, including Spanish. Let us know what grades/subjects YOU feel comfortable tutoring!

ABSOLUTE requirements:

You must have 2 references and a resume.

You must have access to a car.

You must be willing to tutor at least 2 students.

You must have prior tutoring experience or have worked with children.

You must live in Chapel Hill or Carrboro during the school year.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 per hour
