Job Summary
Non-Paying Intern Position, WILL TRAIN -- We are seeking an energetic and dedicated TV Field Reporter to bring compelling news stories directly from the community to viewers. As a vital member of our news team, you will be responsible for gathering, reporting, and delivering accurate, engaging, and timely news coverage from various locations. Your role will involve capturing high-quality footage, conducting interviews, and ensuring all content aligns with journalistic standards. This position offers a dynamic environment where your storytelling skills and passion for journalism will shine, connecting audiences with the stories that matter most.

Duties

  • Cover breaking news stories on location, providing live reports and updates to viewers.
  • Conduct interviews with community members, officials, and experts to gather relevant information.
  • Capture high-quality video footage and photographs that support news stories using professional videography and photography techniques.
  • Edit video segments efficiently to produce polished news reports suitable for broadcast and social media platforms.
  • Fact-check information thoroughly to ensure accuracy and maintain journalistic integrity.
  • Write clear, concise scripts and copy that adhere to AP style guidelines for consistency and professionalism.
  • Manage social media accounts by posting updates, engaging with viewers, and promoting upcoming stories.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of AP style for writing and editing news content.
  • Proficiency in video production, videography, editing software, and photography equipment.
  • Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to reach diverse audiences effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for conducting interviews and engaging with the community.
  • Sharp research skills to verify facts quickly in fast-paced news environments.
  • Ability to proofread and copy edit scripts for clarity, accuracy, and grammatical correctness.
  • Experience in social media management to expand story reach and audience engagement.
