Role

An online gallery based in Oslo, Norway, is seeking a UI/UX Designer to join our team. This role is focused on designing and refining the digital experiences related to online art curation, exhibition browsing, and artwork discovery. The designer will be responsible for the end-to-end product design lifecycle, contributing to a platform that connects audiences with digital art collections.

Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end product design processes, including user research, user flows, wireframing, interactive prototyping, and final user interface design.
  • Maintain and contribute to the evolution of our design system to ensure consistency and efficiency across the platform.
  • Ensure all designs comply with accessibility standards, specifically WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
  • Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to gather feedback and validate design decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with product management and engineering teams to translate requirements into functional and user-centered design solutions.
  • Create clear documentation and design specifications for seamless handoff to the development team.
  • Analyze user data and metrics to inform design iterations and improve product performance.

Requirements

  • 1–5+ years of professional experience as a UI/UX Designer, Product Designer, or in a similar role.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in designing responsive web products from concept to launch.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and other prototyping software.
  • Demonstrated experience with user experience research methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of information architecture, interaction design principles, and visual design.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Experience preparing and handing off design files and specifications to engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing for e-commerce platforms, including checkout and payment flows.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and their design implications.
  • Experience building and scaling design systems.
  • Proficiency with analytics tools to measure design effectiveness.
  • Understanding of the European digital market.

Location and Work Arrangement

This is a fully remote position with no in-office requirements. Candidates may be based anywhere, provided they are able to collaborate effectively with the team in Oslo time zone hours.
