About Grubbrr

Grubbrr is a leading provider of innovative self-ordering and guest-engagement solutions for the restaurant, retail, and hospitality industries. Our platform powers self-service kiosks, Kitchen Display Systems (KDS), Point of Sale (POS), order progress boards, and online ordering experiences used by brands ranging from emerging concepts to large multi-location operators.

We focus on creating fast, intuitive, and frictionless user experiences that help our clients operate more efficiently while delivering a better experience to their customers.

The Role

We are seeking a creative, driven, and collaborative UI/UX Designer to join our Product and Engineering organization. This role plays a critical part in shaping how users interact with Grubbrr’s platform across a wide range of self-service and internal applications.

This position blends hands-on UI/UX design with visual storytelling and communication . In addition to designing and optimizing user interfaces, the designer will help communicate product value through prototypes, demos, and presentation materials used internally and with prospective clients.

The ideal candidate has a few years of real-world UI/UX experience, a strong foundation in user-centered design, and enjoys working closely with product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams in a fast-moving, in-office environment.

What You’ll Do

UI/UX Design & Optimization

  • Design and optimize user experiences for Grubbrr’s core kiosk software, with a strong emphasis on reducing taps/clicks and accelerating order completion
  • Continuously refine existing interfaces to improve speed, clarity, and usability in high-traffic, real-world environments

New Product & Feature Design

  • Design and prototype new user flows and interfaces across:
    • Self-service kiosks
    • Kitchen Display Systems (KDS)
    • Order progress boards
    • Point of Sale (POS) applications
    • Online ordering platforms and custom kiosk experiences
  • Translate complex business and technical requirements into elegant, intuitive user flows

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the Product Owner/Management team to understand requirements, priorities, and customer needs
  • Work directly with Engineering to ensure designs are technically feasible and implemented with high quality
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Operations when designs impact demos, pilots, or client implementations

Stakeholder Communication & Presentations

  • Prepare and present design concepts, prototypes, and design rationale to internal stakeholders, including C-level leadership
  • Create and edit basic presentation decks and visual materials to support product demos, pilots, and internal alignment

Demo & Pilot Support

  • Assist with kiosk branding updates, image asset editing, and menu customizations for demos and pilot programs—particularly for larger or strategic clients
  • Help ensure demo experiences reflect the best version of the product

Problem Solving & Iteration

  • Review user feedback, support tickets, and usability challenges
  • Propose, test, and iterate on design solutions that improve overall user experience and operational efficiency

Design Specifications & Implementation Support

  • Develop wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity prototypes using Figma
  • Provide design assets and detailed specifications to front-end developers
  • Offer support around basic HTML structure or layout considerations when needed to ensure smooth implementation

What Success Looks Like

  • Measurable reduction in taps/clicks and friction within core ordering flows
  • Clear, consistent user experiences across kiosks, KDS, POS, and online ordering
  • High-quality prototypes and demos that support sales conversations and client pilots
  • Strong collaboration and trust with Product and Engineering partners

Required Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of professional experience designing UI/UX for digital products
  • Strong proficiency in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity design
  • Demonstrated ability to design experiences that prioritize speed, efficiency, and clarity
  • Experience collaborating directly with front-end or engineering teams
  • Solid visual design skills and the ability to clearly explain design decisions
  • Interest in or exposure to restaurant, hospitality, or food & beverage technology

A portfolio or work samples demonstrating UI/UX thinking, user flows, and design decisions is strongly preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing for kiosk applications or other public-facing self-service devices
  • Ability to create simple animations or transitions for user feedback
  • Experience designing or refining custom icons and visual assets
  • Basic HTML/CSS familiarity
  • Basic video editing skills for demos or prototypes
  • Familiarity with ADA guidelines and designing accessible, inclusive user experiences

Who You Are

  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a growing product organization
  • Collaborative, curious, and energized by solving real-world problems
  • Entrepreneurial in mindset, with a bias toward action and iteration
  • Enjoy working in-office with cross-functional teams and moving quickly from idea to execution

Why Grubbrr

  • High-impact role with visibility across Product, Engineering, and Executive leadership
  • Opportunity to influence both the product experience and how it’s communicated to customers
  • In-office collaboration with a tight-knit, fast-moving team
  • Room to grow as the platform and organization continue to expand
