Find The RightJob.
Aeternox Ltd is a UK-registered health technology company. We help men take control of their health through clinically accurate hormone testing and medication prescriptions, reviewed by a qualified doctor. We are a focused team building something with real ambition.A UK operation today, with plans to grow our physical presence internationally, including a base in Lahore.
The platform already exists. The brand, the content, the product all of it is there. What we are missing is someone who can take it to the standard it deserves. We want to look like Numan. We want to feel like a serious UK health company. We need a designer who looks at that brief and thinks: I can do that.
THE CONTRACT
A long-term 12-month contract role paid monthly on a fixed retainer, directly to you. A mutual NDA is in place before any detailed briefing begins, full IP on all work produced belongs to Aeternox, and the notice period is 30 days on both sides.
There is a 90-day initial review period. We use it to make sure the work and the relationship are right. We expect you to use it the same way.
Aeternox plans to establish physical operations in Lahore as the business grows. The role is fully remote for the foreseeable future, but we want people who see themselves as part of that chapter when it comes.
THE VISUAL BENCHMARK
Spend five minutes on numan.com and joinvoy.com before you apply. That is what we are building towards — premium, clean, and human. Dark backgrounds used with purpose. Imagery that looks real whether it came from a photographer or a model. Motion subtle enough you almost do not notice it. Typography that reads as clinical authority, not a wellness brand.
If you look at those sites and feel confident you can reach that level, this role is for you. If you are not sure, it probably is not.
WHAT YOU ARE WALKING INTO
The platform is built on WordPress and WooCommerce. The visual identity — colour palette, typography, panel structure, section layouts — already exists. The content across all five test panels, the Enhanced Division, and the data protection pages is written and live.
What does not exist yet: the results portal. The customer account. A proper checkout skin. Functioning navigation. Mobile layouts that actually work. Animations. Real imagery. A design system the developer can build from. All of that is yours to build.
You will work in parallel with our Senior WordPress & WooCommerce Developer. You own the visual and UX decisions. They own the technical ones. You report directly into the UK founding team.
OUR STANDARDS AND POLICIES
The platform handles sensitive medical data. Everyone on this team takes that seriously. The following apply from day one.
Confidentiality — Any misuse of customer data, unreleased designs, or business information is grounds for immediate contract termination.
Medical accuracy in design — Any screen displaying health data, reference ranges, or clinical information is reviewed by our medical team before it goes live. You do not ship health-related UI without sign-off.
No competing work — You may not work on directly competing health testing platforms during this engagement.
Communication — During agreed overlap hours, messages are acknowledged within one hour. Nothing left unanswered at end of day.
Handoff quality — Every Figma file is clean, organised, and annotated. The developer opens it and builds without needing to ask questions.
BEFORE YOU APPLY
This is not a role for graphic designers whose main output is social media tiles, or UI designers whose portfolio is landing pages and promotional sites. We need someone who has shipped real product interfaces — portals, dashboards, account flows, data displays — and has the range to produce hero sections and imagery that feel considered and premium.
Health, medical, fintech, or high-trust consumer product experience is a real advantage. So is experience with AI image generation as part of a design workflow. The way you present yourself in the application tells us as much as the portfolio does.
EDUCATION
A bachelor's degree in Design, Visual Communication, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Graduates from NCA, LUMS, FAST-NUCES, NUST, IBA, or equivalent institutions are particularly welcome. A strong portfolio of real product work will be considered in place of a formal degree — but make the case clearly, the bar is not lower.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
→ High standards. You know the difference between work that passes and work that is genuinely good, and you do not settle for the former when you can reach the latter.
→ Design thinking rooted in the user. Every decision traces back to what a real person needs in that moment — not what looks impressive in a portfolio review.
→ Speed and discipline at the same time. The developer is waiting for files. But files that are sloppy, inconsistent, or poorly annotated cost more time than they save.
→ Comfort with clinical context. Designing a screen where a man sees his liver enzymes are elevated requires care and precision. You treat that responsibility seriously.
→ The ability to work well with a developer. You understand how your decisions translate into code, you use auto-layout and components properly, and you do not produce designs that create unnecessary implementation problems.
→ Willingness to take direction and push back. You incorporate feedback from the founding team and the medical team, and you hold your ground professionally when you believe something is wrong.
→ Availability during a four-hour window that overlaps with UK business hours — 14:00 to 18:00 PKT — at minimum.
EVERYTHING YOU WILL DESIGN
This is the full scope. Not a selection — all of it.
Results portal — The most important screen in the product. A man opens this and sees up to 98 biomarkers with reference ranges, colour-coded status indicators, animated gauge displays, doctor notes, and a clear summary. Clinically credible and readable for someone who has never seen a blood test result before. This is the centrepiece of the brief.
Results PDF report — A formatted, printable PDF version of the results that a customer can download and share with their GP. Clean, clinical, and consistent with the digital portal.
Biomarker detail pages — Each biomarker has an expandable detail section explaining what it measures, what the result means, and what to do. Clear hierarchy, readable on mobile, no medical jargon left unexplained.
Customer account portal — Order history, result access, profile management, kit status tracking, phlebotomy booking flow. Clean, functional, and consistent with the broader design system.
Find My Panel quiz — A multi-step guided quiz recommending the right panel based on health goals and symptoms. Each step needs a clear layout, progress indicator, and a result screen explaining the recommendation.
Panel pages and comparison — The five panel product pages and the comparison table, redesigned to match the visual standard and to convert. Each panel has a distinct feel within the same system.
Enhanced Division — A visually distinct sub-brand — deep blacks, gold accents, a more cinematic and premium feel than the Standard Division. Applied consistently across all Enhanced Division pages, panels, and the results portal for Enhanced users.
WooCommerce checkout — The checkout flow skinned to look and feel like Aeternox from product page to order confirmation. Trust signals, clean layout, mobile-first.
Phlebotomy booking flow — The journey for customers who need a venous blood draw — selecting a clinic or mobile phlebotomist, booking a time, confirmation. Simple and reassuring.
Doctor portal — A separate, role-restricted interface for our GMC-registered doctor to review flagged results and add clinical notes before release.
Admin dashboard — An internal back-office view for the Aeternox team — order management, dispatch log, customer records, results upload. Not customer-facing, but still needs to be clean and usable.
Mobile experience — The site was built desktop-first. Panel cards, the comparison table, biomarker sections, the quiz, and checkout all need proper mobile treatment — designed for touch, not just scaled down.
Hero sections and imagery — Full-bleed premium hero sections using AI-generated imagery art-directed to the Aeternox palette. Atmospheric, dark, and clinical without feeling cold.
Product and kit imagery — Studio-rendered product shots of the test kit, collection device, and packaging. AI-generated and colour-graded to match the brand.
Animations and interactions — Scroll-triggered fade-ups, animated number counters, gauge fill animations on result reveal, hover states, smooth accordion interactions. All specified in Figma with easing, duration, and trigger conditions annotated for the developer.
Biomarker icon set — A consistent set of custom icons for the biomarker categories — hormones, liver, kidney, cardiac, vitamins, and so on. Simple, clinical line style. Not stock icons.
Email templates — Order confirmation, kit dispatched, results ready, doctor review complete — consistent with the brand and readable across email clients.
Error, loading, and empty states — 404 page, loading indicators, empty account states, form error messages. The details most designers skip and users always notice.
Social media asset templates — Reusable Figma templates for Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn that the Head of Marketing can adapt without needing a designer for every post.
Figma component library — A complete, organised design system — typography, colour tokens, spacing scale, buttons, cards, form elements, data display components, icons — that the developer builds from and the team maintains.
