Ultrasound Tech

Join us as an Ultrasound Technologist at the Syracuse VA Medical Center located in Syracuse, NY.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Abdominal (GB, liver, renal, pancreas, spleen, bladder and any pelvic pathology
  • Renal sonography
  • Renal artery doppler- r/o renal artery stenosis
  • Bladder
  • Abdomen doppler
  • Aorta
  • Lower extremity venous doppler- r/o DVT
  • Carotid doppler
  • Lower extremity arterial limb studies
  • Pelvic
  • Chest sonogram
  • Superficial masses
  • Scrotal sono-r/o mass, torsion, abscess, infection
  • Lower extremity vein map
  • Upper extremity vein map

Schedule: Part-time, 8A-4:30P shifts. On-call, evenings, weekends, and holidays required as needed.

Period of Performance: 6 months, (estimated 4/5/2026-10/4/2026). One 6-month renewal available through 4/4/2027.

What we do:

Monterey teams with general practice, specialists, and allied health practitioners nationwide to provide local coverage for examinees. We deliver a wide range of medical examination-only services to public sectors and the individuals they serve. Our clients include the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), the Department of Labor, the Department of Defense, and more. Our provider network consists of over 700 providers in various medical specialties and degree types. They conduct diagnostic-only examination services on an as-needed basis. These services may take place in their private office, established clinics located across the country, or during travel opportunities for group screening events.

  • Education. High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s in Radiology Technology or similar program preferred.
  • Certification. Must possess American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification in abdomen, OB/GYN, and/or breast) depending on services provided. BLS required.
  • Experience. Minimum 3 years performing general and vascular ultrasound examinations.
  • Able to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Subject to background/security investigation.
  • Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.
  • Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
