Underground Laborer – Telecommunications Construction

Job Overview

Due to continued company growth and increased underground fiber projects, we are hiring an Underground Laborer to join our Telecommunications Construction team in Berlin, Ohio.

As a telecommunications contractor, we install underground fiber optic and communication infrastructure that supports local businesses and residential communities. We are seeking hardworking, dependable individuals who are ready to build a long-term career in underground utility construction.

This position works outdoors and supports trenching and directional drilling crews in the installation of underground telecommunications systems.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with installation of underground fiber optic cable and conduit

• Dig trenches and potholes using hand tools and mechanical equipment

• Assist directional drill and trenching crews

• Place conduit, handholes, vaults, and pedestals

• Load and unload materials and equipment

• Perform site restoration (backfill, grading, cleanup)

• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures

• Maintain clean and organized job sites

• Report unsafe conditions immediately

What We’re Looking For

• Construction or underground utility experience preferred (not required – willing to train the right candidate)

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Strong work ethic and reliability

• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team

• Valid driver’s license preferred

• Must be dependable and punctual

Work Environment

• Outdoor construction setting

• Physically demanding work (lifting, bending, kneeling, standing)

• Exposure to heat, cold, rain, and snow

• Work in trenches and uneven terrain

Schedule

• Monday – Friday

• Overtime and occasional weekends as needed
