Position Overview

Sigma Protective Services is seeking professional, disciplined individuals to serve as Uniformed Patrol Officers within the Uniformed Patrol Division.

This is an armed patrol position requiring a high level of professionalism, sound judgment, and adherence to established safety, training, and operational standards.

This is not a traditional “observe and report” security role.

The position is structured around proactive patrol, professional documentation, and accountability. Officers are expected to operate independently, maintain a consistent and composed presence, and produce clear, detailed written reports.

This role is best suited for individuals seeking a structured, performance-driven environment with opportunities for advancement into senior and training roles.

Compensation

• Starting Pay: $24.00 per hour
• Post 90-Day Probationary (FTO Completion): $25.00 per hour
• Performance-Based Advancement: Up to $26.00 per hour within the first year

Advancement is based on performance, professionalism, and adherence to company standards. Officers demonstrating consistent performance may progress into Senior and Field Training roles.

Schedule

• Friday – Monday | 7:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Full-time | 40 hours per week
• Schedule may adjust based on operational needs; weekend availability required

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive vehicle and foot patrols of assigned properties
• Identify and address unauthorized individuals, safety concerns, and policy violations
• Perform resident/guest verification when necessary
• Respond to service calls and incidents professionally
• Maintain a visible, professional presence on property

Officers are expected to make independent decisions within established guidelines and handle situations without direct supervision.

Documentation & Reporting

• Complete detailed, accurate patrol and incident reports
• Document observations using proper grammar, structure, and professional language
• Maintain consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail in all written reports

Equipment & Training

Sigma provides all required equipment and training, including:

• Full duty uniform
• Outer carrier
• Taser
• Body-worn camera
• Radio and patrol equipment

Estimated value of issued equipment exceeds $5,000.

All officers complete a structured Field Training Officer (FTO) program prior to independent assignment.

All equipment must be worn and maintained in accordance with company standards.

Firearm Requirement

Officers are required to carry a personally owned duty firearm in accordance with company policy.

• Only Glock model handguns are authorized
• Approved calibers: 9mm or .40 S&W
• Firearms must remain unmodified unless explicitly authorized in writing

Applicants who do not currently own a qualifying firearm may still apply. Additional details will be provided during the hiring process.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to pass a drug screening
• Strong written communication skills (will be evaluated)
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• Professional demeanor and appearance

Preferred Background

• Criminal justice, law enforcement, or military experience
• Prior armed security or patrol experience
• Experience writing detailed reports or formal documentation

Selection Process

Sigma Protective Services maintains a structured and selective hiring process designed to identify candidates capable of meeting the standards of the Uniformed Patrol Division.

Candidates selected to advance will complete the following steps:

• Initial application review
• Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ)
• Writing assessment (grammar and report writing)
• Structured in-person interview

This is not an expedited hiring process. Candidates are expected to complete each step thoroughly and within designated timeframes.

Only those who successfully complete all stages will be considered for employment.
