PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Universal Banker delivers exceptional customer service while performing both teller and new account responsibilities. This role serves as the first point of contact for customers, providing efficient and accurate transaction processing, offering tailored banking solutions, and ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. The Universal Banker actively promotes products and services to meet customer needs and supports branch goals through cross-selling, relationship building, and community engagement.
· Greet customers promptly and professionally, creating a welcoming and friendly environment and developing and maintaining customer relationships in person and over the phone.
· Processes teller transactions within established policies and procedures to ensure operational excellence and maintain a balanced till.
· Ensure all audit and security policies and procedures are followed in accordance with Bank policy and Federal regulations.
· Explain various services available and assist customers in selecting these services.
· Open new accounts including checking, savings, Certificate of Deposits, and IRAs; verify and process changes to existing accounts.
· Perform servicing duties: research customer inquiries, order checks and/or debit cards, return phone calls, help customers balance their accounts, accept wires, and maintain working knowledge of products/services for cross-selling.
· Perform a variety of other tasks, such as filing, copying, and opening and distributing mail.
· Assist customers in opening, closing and accessing their safe deposit boxes.
· Monitor the cash in the cash recyclers and ATM and replenish or remove cash as needed.
· Observe suspicious behavior and report any such activity to management as appropriate.
· Maintain confidentiality of customer accounts and information.
· Follow Bank’s BSA/AML/CIP Policy and all other Compliance Policies.
· Perform other duties as assigned by bank management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in business, finance, or related field preferred.
· 1+ years of experience in banking, retail, or customer service with cash handling responsibilities preferred.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer focused mindset.
· Computer experience required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn bank software systems.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to recognize and apply discretion on confidential matters.
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments (with interruptions).
· Ability to work independently.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Must display a positive attitude and promote a “team” environment.
· Must be US Citizen authorized to work in the United States.
· Must have reliable transportation to allow travel to/from work.
· Must be capable of working in a fast-paced office environment interacting with staff and customers in person and electronically.
· Ability to work an 8-hour workday/40-hour work week (M-F).
HOURS:
The Bank’s operating hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
While performing the assigned job duties, employees must be able to communicate clearly verbally and electronically with individuals. Employees must physically be capable of staying seated/standing in place for extended periods of time, they must also have full use of hands to allow efficient use of a keyboard and mouse, telephone, and other office equipment. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands/arms and carry items (up to 10 pounds) and perform installation of banking equipment. This position requires extended periods of work on a desktop computer. This position also requires professional and appropriate interaction with staff members, customers, and the public.
