As an University Admissions Counselor you'll work with students to guide them through the university readiness and application process using our proven process and tools. In this fully remote position, you will:
- Work 1:1 and deliver group presentations
- Evaluate academic transcripts and make recommendations for growth
- Guide students through careers and majors exploration
- Recommend extracurricular and enrichment activities to position students for success in university admissions
- Explain college admissions and testing requirements and timelines
- Develop target college lists based on student goals, profiles, and financial constraints
- Advise on the components of a standout application: essays, resumes, activities lists, and portfolios
- Demonstrate an excellent ability to brainstorm personal statements and act as an application coach
- Maintain comprehensive and efficient notes on student advising sessions for accurate and timely reporting.
KPI
- Produce weekly report detailing student progress and maintain fastidious records
- Engage consistently in weekly or bi-weekly meetings with line manager and client
- Demonstrate responsiveness to line manager and client needs
- Co-develop an engaging university readiness curriculum and revise as needed
- Act as primary contact to IAC student cohorts, maintaining consistent communication through WhatsApp groups, phone, online meetings, in-person meetings, and email
- Recommend and initiate creative strategies to improve student engagement
- Organize and deliver bi-weekly group webinars and seminars
- Coordinate group sessions and organize guest presenters and all session logistics
- Engage with students in 1:1 sessions and maintain a 40 percent billable time ratio (varies with admissions seasonality)
- Demonstrate expertise in global university admissions procedures for elite and non-elite universities
- Adhere to client protocols and standards of operating
- Demonstrates flexibility in working hours as required by special events or circumstances
- Demonstrate willingness to take on new roles and responsibilities as required by the ever changing client requirements
- Demonstrate intellectual curiosity through continuous learning as required by the role
- Demonstrate a spirit of collaboration and teamwork consistently and proactive.
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Professional certification in counseling, education, or admissions (preferred but not mandatory).
Experience
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in university admissions, academic counseling, or student advisory roles.
- Proven experience working with international education systems (UK, US, Canada, Australia, or UAE).
- Experience handling student applications, admissions processes, and visa requirements.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of university admission requirements, application timelines, and documentation.
- Knowledge of international university systems, standardized tests (IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, etc.), and equivalency processes.
- Familiarity with UAE education authorities (ADEK, KHDA, MOE) is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple student cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office and student management systems (SMS/CRM).
