Job Title – Social Studies Teacher & Assembly Incharge (Classes IV–V)

Role Overview

To educate, inspire, and nurture students’ understanding of social studies concepts, history, civics, and geography, while fostering critical thinking, awareness of cultural and societal issues, and active participation in school life. Additionally, to lead and manage school assemblies, fostering communication skills, discipline, and school values among students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruction: Deliver engaging social studies lessons for Classes IV–V, helping students understand historical events, civic responsibilities, and geographical concepts.
  • Curriculum Implementation: Ensure lessons align with the school curriculum and educational standards, and are adapted to students’ learning needs.
  • Assessment: Evaluate student understanding through quizzes, assignments, and activities, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Assembly Leadership: Plan, organize, and conduct daily/weekly school assemblies, ensuring active student participation and promoting school values, discipline, and communication skills.
  • Student Engagement: Encourage students to participate in discussions, debates, presentations, and co-curricular activities related to social studies.
  • Classroom Environment: Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment that motivates students to explore social, cultural, and civic topics.

  • Student Feedback: 80% positive feedback from students through structured feedback forms.
  • Parent’s Feedback: 80% positive feedback from parents gathered via periodic surveys.
  • Syllabi Completion: 100% of the prescribed social studies syllabus for Classes IV–V to be covered and documented in the syllabi format.
  • Improvement of All Students: Each student should demonstrate at least a 10% improvement from the first to subsequent internal assessments.
  • Assembly Effectiveness: 90% of assemblies conducted successfully with active student participation and adherence to schedule, values, and decorum.

Skills

Strong subject knowledge in social studies, classroom management, student engagement, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Studies, History, Political Science, or related discipline.
  • B.Ed. (mandatory).
  • Experience teaching primary school social studies preferred.
