Upwork Bidder / Business Development Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Upwork Bidder with 1–2 years of hands-on experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying relevant projects on Upwork, writing tailored proposals, and helping us win new clients consistently. If you have a passion for sales, strong written communication skills, and a solid understanding of how Upwork works, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Browse Upwork daily to identify and shortlist projects that match our service offerings
• Write personalized, compelling, and professional proposals for each job posting
• Initiate conversations with potential clients and respond to queries in a timely manner
• Optimize and maintain the Upwork profile to ensure maximum visibility and credibility
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information before submitting bids
• Follow up with leads and nurture client relationships to improve conversion rates
• Track and report bidding activity, response rates, and wins on a regular basis
• Negotiate project scope, pricing, and timelines professionally
• Ensure the Upwork account maintains a strong Job Success Score (JSS)

Requirements

• 1–2 years of proven experience as an Upwork Bidder or in a similar role on freelance platforms
• Strong written English communication skills with the ability to craft non-generic, client-specific proposals
• Solid understanding of Upwork's platform, bidding system, and best practices
• Experience working in niches such as IT, software development, graphic design, or digital marketing.
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet daily targets
• Basic knowledge of the services being offered by the company
• Familiarity with tools like Trello, Asana, Slack, or any CRM is a plus
• Self-disciplined, target-driven, and able to work independently in a remote setting
• Quick to respond to client messages and comfortable working across time zones if required

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred but not required)
