We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting and Tax Expert having several years of experience with USA clients to join our team in validating and ensuring the accuracy of our accounting and tax software systems. As a key contributor, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to review financial data, verify software functionalities, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. <Duties>
- Conduct comprehensive validation of accounting and tax software to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant tax regulations
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and financial statements for accuracy and consistency
- Test software functionalities related to double entry bookkeeping, accounts payable, payroll, and financial report writing
- Validate tax calculations within the software, including tax accounting procedures for different jurisdictions
- Collaborate with software developers and finance teams to identify discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements
- Perform detailed analysis of financial data using tools like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other accounting software platforms
- Ensure regulatory reporting requirements are met by verifying data integrity and compliance standards such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls
<Requirements>
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced certifications such as CPA or CMA are a plus
- Proven experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or financial analysis with a focus on tax experience and auditing practices
- Strong understanding of GAAP, securities law, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), estate planning, wills & trusts law
- Expertise in financial concepts including mergers & acquisitions, private equity, asset management, and investment analysis
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with financial software integration testing is preferred
- Proficiency with tax software like Turbo Tax, Netsuite, Drake Tax, etc.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements for internal controls and regulatory reporting standards
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports and perform account reconciliation effectively
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent communication skills for clear report writing and documentation
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
