Position Summary
Newberry Township is seeking a Utility Billing & Accounting Coordinator to manage utility billing, customer accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial recordkeeping, and general office administration. This position works closely with the Township Manager and Comptroller and is ideal for candidates with experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, or office administration.
Essential Duties
· Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
· Receive, record, and reconcile payments
· Prepare bank deposits
· Maintain customer and financial records
· Process invoices and vendor payments
· Prepare reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
· Utilize QuickBooks and other financial software
· Utility billing and customer accounts
· Track delinquent accounts and prepare notices
· Coordinate property settlements and account transfers
· Maintain files, records, permits, and documentation
· Answer phones and assist residents, contractors, and vendors
· Provide administrative support to the Comptroller and Township Manager
· Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred
· Minimum two years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, or administrative support
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe PDF
· Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred
· Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
· Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
· Notary Public or ability to obtain within six months
