JOB SUMMARY: Utility employees are highly versatile, trained to perform multiple functions for the parking operation including task related to cashiering, maintenance, and meters. This is a nonexempt hourly position that reports to the Operations Area Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure that parking tickets are accurately calculated, and the fee correctly collected by the customer.
- Communicate with customers in a friendly and inviting manner, answering questions about parking operation including but not limited to hours of operation and rates.

Direct customers to open egress lanes to maintain speedy service and exits.
- Accurately complete daily cashier shift report.
- Coordinate with management on processing exception transactions.
- Inform management of safety and security issues in a timely manner.
- Provide cashier breaks.

Provide change to cashiers throughout the parking system.

Transport supplies to cashier booths and offices.
-
Sweep garages and lots including but not limited to curbs, stairs, walkways, elevators, and drive lanes.

Wipe down handrails in stairs using company approved cleaning supplies.
-
Clean windows in structures using company approved cleaning supplies.
-
Clean and polish trash cans using company approved supplies.
-
Empty trash cans and install new can liners.
-
Clean vomit, urine, feces, and blood in a timely manner using company approved supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).
-
Mop elevators, elevator landings, and other areas as needed using company approved supplies and PPE.
-
Safely operate company vehicles and trucks, maintaining an acceptable and clean driving record that meets specific company policy.

Perform regular structure and lot tours.
-
Snow and ice shoveling as required.
-
Remove trash and debris from drive lanes, curbs, walkways, stairs, and other applicable areas of the operation as needed.

Clean 911 boxes, signage, and window ledges using company approved supplies.
-
Remove cobwebs in stairwell corners and around light fixtures.
-
Clean the offices, empty trash, vacuum, dust, wash windows.
-
Clean the restrooms, wash sink, toilet, mop floor, fill paper and sanitary products as needed.

Clean break rooms.
-
Remove graffiti as needed and perform paint touch up.
-
Painting areas in the structure, stairwells, bathrooms, office walls.
-
Complete work orders assigned through Fiix software.
-
Perform car counts at structures and open lots.
-
Respond to elevator problems and reset as needed.
-
Snow removal duties including but not limited to shoveling, scrapping, and applying mag salt as needed.

Replace light bulbs as needed.
-
Assist with power washing as needed.
-
Other duties as assigned.

Collect money from parking meters.
-
Clear coin and bill jams in pay stations as needed.
-
Make deliveries of funds to the bank.

Conduct audits on meters.
-
Operate company vehicles in a safe manner.
-
Replace decals on meters as needed.
-
Replace thermal receipt paper in meters.
-
conduct regular preventive maintenance on meters.
-
Replace meters and meter posts as needed.
-
Install and remove meter hoods in a timely manner.
-
Provide maintenance to meter mechanisms, heads, housing, and posts as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:

Utility employees work up to 90% of the time outside and should be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Repetitive use of hands, grasping and holding tools, extensive walking, standing, bending, reaching, crouching, grasping, twisting, and stair climbing.
- Position regular works with various cleaning solvents, and hazardous substances for removal of graffiti, cleaning, painting, and other applications.
- Environmental conditions include working in the weather of all types. Capable of working in extreme cold, heat, and high wind conditions for extended periods.
- At times will be required to work within cashier booths but may at times be required to work outside of a booth performing cashier duties.
- Perform repetitive keypunch and fee computer transactions, sitting in a chair, working in a garage environment exposed to noise, crowds, engaging customers, and employees.
- May be required at times to stand on feet for several hours and walk several miles.
- At times will be required to use light to medium power tools and personal protective equipment.
