Utility Locator

Summary

As an Underground Utility Locator, you will be essential in ensuring the accurate identification and mapping of underground utilities to prevent service disruptions and enhance safety on construction sites. Reporting to the Field Service Manager, you will utilize your core skills in utility locating and map reading, alongside your premium experience in land surveying and service technician roles.

Responsibilities
- Conduct utility line locating activities to identify and mark underground utilities
- Use various tools and equipment such as cable locators, ground-penetrating radar, and electromagnetic devices
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, and drawings to accurately locate utility lines
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate utility line identification
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment
- Document and report findings, including any damages or discrepancies encountered during the locating process

Qualifications
- Previous experience in field service or as a service technician is preferred
- Knowledge of utility locating techniques and equipment operation
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting maps and drawings
- Familiarity with land surveying principles is a plus
- Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts and backhoes may be required
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
