JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: UTILITY WORKER / ASSEMBLER

Accountable to: Production Manager
Job summary:
The Utility Worker performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks

Responsibilities/daily tasks:

• Set up, adjust and operate industrial band saw with limited supervision. Cut materials to meet drawing requirements.
• Clean and maintain the saw. Notify supervisor when saw needs maintenance or when new blades need to be ordered.
• Assembling of parts as needed, install threaded inserts, pins, bushings etc.
• Able to use basic measuring tools, tape measure, dial calipers, micrometer, etc. to inspect his parts
• Keeps work area neat and orderly.
• When needed, assist with shipping and receiving activities. Or other areas in the shop were help is needed.
• Perform manual material handling, sorting, lifting, and caring of assorted sized items up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to be cross trained in other positions for example deburr, lathe operator, drill press etc.
• Sweep entire shop floor, including cleaning the rest rooms and other general housekeeping duties.
• Pick up miscellaneous debris from the parking lot and around trash dumpster
• Perform other duties or projects as specified by supervisor
• Follows safety rules and established work instructions when performing work activities.
• Works effectively with others by demonstrating a cooperative attitude.
• Other misc. labor

Qualifications:
Must have excellent manual dexterity

Willing to learn new skills

Be capable of reading drawings and work instructions

Able to operate manual equipment, power tools and machinery

Able to communicate with fellow employees and Management effectively

A high school diploma or GED is required for this position.

Be able to work with minimal supervision, self-starter.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
