Job Summary

The User Experience Interface Designer will play a pivotal role in shaping the Infobase digital learning platform by crafting intuitive and impactful user interfaces for our educational reference and teaching products. This individual will be an integral part of the product organization, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including product, content acquisition, and front-end and back-end developers, to ensure our solutions are both aesthetically pleasing and functionally seamless.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with product managers to understand user needs and translate them into design concepts.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for digital learning platforms.
  • Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to refine designs.
  • Partner with engineers to rapidly iterate on AI-supported capabilities.
  • Ensure accessibility standards are foundational in all designs to support all learners.
  • Partner on a design system to ensure consistency across products.
  • Monitor and analyze user engagement data to inform design decisions.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in educational technology and UX design.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in UX design tools such as Figma, and Adobe XD.
  • Strong understanding of human-computer interaction principles.
  • Experience in designing for diverse educational environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and communicate design rationale.
  • Knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Knowledge of AI interaction design (AI-powered personalization and/or agentic user experiences).
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in education.

Key Accountabilities/Metrics

  • User engagement rates
    (time spent on platform, session frequency).
  • Conversion rates (feature adoption, course completion).
  • User satisfaction scores (surveys, NPS).
  • Retention rates (monthly active users, churn rate).
  • Accessibility compliance (WCAG ratings, user feedback).
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in UX/UI design, preferably within the educational technology sector.
