About InSite Health

InSite Health is on a mission to expand access to high-quality behavioral health care for students and families. Our engineering team builds the technology that powers clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and meaningful outcomes across the schools and communities we serve.

We’re looking for an experienced contract UX Designer to help us design the next version of our platform used by schools to refer students for mental health services. This is a 2–3 month part time engagement focused on improving usability, clarity, and efficiency across complex administrative workflows used by school staff and InSite Health providers and care coordinators.

You’ll work closely with our product, engineering, and clinical/operations teams to translate real-world needs into intuitive, scalable user experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead UX design for the next iteration of a multi-user platform supporting school-based mental health referrals
  • Design clear, intuitive administrative workflows for non-technical users (e.g., counselors, administrators, care coordinators)
  • Translate complex processes (referrals, handoffs, status tracking, escalation) into simple, usable flows
  • Create artifacts including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs as appropriate
  • Partner with product and engineering to ensure designs are feasible, accessible, and ready for implementation
  • Incorporate user feedback, business constraints, and regulatory considerations into design decisions
  • Help establish or refine UX patterns and design standards for the platform

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of UX/product design experience (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience designing administrative tools, dashboards, or workflow-heavy products
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex, multi-step processes
  • Comfort working independently in a fast-moving, ambiguous problem space
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain design decisions to cross-functional partners
  • Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in EdTech or experience working with school systems
  • Prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $80.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week

Experience:

  • UX/product design : 5 years (Required)
  • designing admin tools and workflow-heavy products: 1 year (Required)

Work Location: Remote
