Job Role: UI/UX Designer
Job Type: Contract
Job Location: Cairo(Remote)
Job Description:
We are seeking a strong UI/UX Designer to help accelerate our digital retail transformation. You’ll design Arabic-first (RTL/LTR) experiences that are mobile first. You’ll run discovery→ delivery, and quantify UX impact.
Key responsibilities:
-
Discovery → delivery: Plan and run lean discovery; translate insights into flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes; validate with evaluative research.
-
E-grocery & omnichannel: Design list-building, re-order, substitutions, delivery slotting, order tracking, and receipts.
-
Design system: Evolve tokens/components, variants, and patterns with RTL/LTR parity and localization; maintain code parity (Storybook/design-token exports) and CI checks for a11y/theming.
-
Metrics & experiments: Define UX metrics and baselines; partner on instrumentation; propose A/B / multivariate tests; iterate to measurable uplifts (order conversion, AOV, reorder rate, retention, Customer feedback).
-
Content & trust: Write clear Arabic/English microcopy; design for transparent pricing, consent, substitutions, and inventory nuance; build trustworthy UI.
-
Accessibility & performance: Enforce WCAG 2.2 AA; set Core Web Vitals budgets; design resilient flows for intermittent connectivity.
-
Cross-functional delivery: Partner with Product on scope/dependencies/risks; break work into incremental releases.
-
Documentation & hygiene: Keep decisions documented; maintain tidy, versioned design files with naming conventions and traceability.
Required qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s in HCI/Interaction/Product Design, Human Factors, Visual/Industrial Design, or similar.
Experience:
-
3+ years designing for e-commerce/omnichannel retail, grocery/CPG, marketplaces
-
Experience at a top MENA company or startup.
-
Arabic (native-level) and English (excellent written/spoken).
-
Portfolio with shipped work (B2C shopper flows and/or internal retail tools), showing problem → solution → impact, systems thinking, and measurable results.
-
Tools & craft: Figma (auto-layout, variables, prototyping), design tokens, component libraries, usability testing fundamentals.
-
Accessibility & performance: WCAG, performance-aware design, high-quality handoff, file/version hygiene.
-
Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, make trade-offs, and deliver outcomes with incomplete data and shifting priorities.
-
AI fluency: Safe, effective use of AI/LLMs to accelerate research, content, synthesis, and QA.
Ideal candidate:
-
· Master’s in Product Design / MS-HCI / MFA, or MBA with design/tech emphasis.
-
· Strong experimentation practice, funnels, and instrumentation; demonstrates measurable funnel uplift.
-
· A11y & systems: Leadership in accessibility; multi-brand/multi-tenant design systems; RTL/LTR parity; research ops at scale.
-
Background at top-tier MENA (e.g., Careem, Talabat, Noon, Amazon/Souq) or Fortune 500 (e.g., Microsoft, Google, Nvidia)
