Your Role
As a Van Driver & General Labourer your responsible for the safe transportation of goods, equipment, and materials between sites, while also supporting the general upkeep, maintenance, and presentation of company facilities. This role helps ensure that facilities remain safe, operational, and well-presented, supporting day-to-day business activities.
Key Responsibilities
Dedicated van driver for all sub contract related product.
- Safely operate company vans in accordance with UK road traffic laws and company policies
- Deliver and collect goods, equipment, and supplies between company sites, suppliers, and customers
- Load and unload vehicles safely, ensuring items are secured and transported without damage
- Carry out daily vehicle checks (fuel, oil, tyres, lights, cleanliness) and report defects promptly
- Keep accurate delivery records and documentation where required.
Facilities Upkeep & Maintenance
- Undertake day to day housekeeping and any other reasonable management requests to ensure the facilities are in a presentable state
- Carry out basic maintenance and repair tasks (e.g. minor plumbing, painting, furniture repairs)
- Support routine site upkeep including cleaning external areas, waste removal, and recycling
- Assist with office and site moves, furniture setup, and equipment relocation
- Conduct basic health & safety checks and report hazards or maintenance issues
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers when required, under management direction
General Duties
- Assist other areas with general labouring tasks
- Maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas in a clean and organised condition
- Follow all health & safety, manual handling, and risk assessment procedures
- Represent the company professionally when on-site or interacting with external parties
- Carry out additional reasonable duties as required by the business
About you
Essential Skill & Experience
- Experience in a similar driving role
- Experience working in a fast paced manufacturing and/or customer service based role
Preferred Qualifications
- Manual Handling Training Course
Technical/job specific skills required
Essential
- Good communication skills
- Full, clean UK driving licence (category B)
- Experience driving vans or similar commercial vehicles
- Practical, hands-on approach to general maintenance and facilities tasks
- Good awareness of health & safety practices
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance, property services, or caretaking
- Basic trade skills (e.g. carpentry, DIY repairs, painting)
- Familiarity with risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Counter balance fork truck licence or prepared to undertake licence
