About the Roll:
Performs vascular ultrasound studies on patients in the vascular laboratory, bedside or in the operating room; The vascular scientist must able to analyze complex hemodynamic and imaging information obtained during the scan as its performed to form a diagnosis. Adapt the scan or extend the scan based on observations and measurements taken during the scan and accurately record and report test results.
Experience:
-
Hands-on experience performing vascular ultrasounds in clinical settings (e.g., hospitals, vascular labs, outpatient clinics).
-
Familiarity with
arterial and venous anatomy
, hemodynamics, and pathology.
-
Experience with
patient care
and
clinical documentation
.
-
Perform, interpret diagnostics
-
Performed
carotid duplex ultrasound
to detect stenosis, plaque buildup, and evaluate stroke risk.
-
Conducted
peripheral arterial duplex
studies in upper and lower extremities to assess for peripheral artery disease (PAD) and aneurysms.
-
Measured
ankle-brachial index (ABI)
and
segmental limb pressures
to quantify arterial obstruction.
-
Executed
transcranial Doppler (TCD) studies
to assess intracranial blood flow and cerebrovascular pathology.
-
Conducted
lower and upper extremity venous duplex ultrasounds
for detection of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and venous insufficiency.
-
Performed
venous reflux and compression studies
to evaluate valve competency and detect venous reflux or obstruction.
-
Assisted in
arteriovenous (AV) fistula mapping
and post-procedural
bypass graft surveillance
for dialysis and vascular surgery patients.
-
Conducted
abdominal aortic, renal, and mesenteric artery ultrasounds
to detect stenosis, aneurysms, and other vascular abnormalities.
-
Utilized
plethysmography
(strain-gauge and air) to evaluate limb volume changes and assess arterial circulation.
-
Operated and maintained advanced
ultrasound and Doppler equipment
, ensuring high-quality imaging and accurate hemodynamic measurements.
-
Recorded, analyzed, and documented diagnostic findings in compliance with laboratory protocols and physician review.
-
Collaborated with vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, and cardiologists to provide real-time imaging support during
interventional vascular procedures
.
Qualification:
