Job Summary
The Truck Maintenance Executive is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all trucks and heavy vehicles used in oil & gas operations. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and strict adherence to HSE, regulatory, and company standards to support uninterrupted and incident-free operations, including in remote and high-risk environments.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for oilfield trucks and heavy vehicles
· Maintain vehicles used for transport of fuel, chemicals, drilling equipment, and materials
· Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, industry regulations, and oil & gas safety standards
· Conduct and oversee pre-trip, post-trip, and periodic safety inspections
· Manage maintenance of specialized vehicles such as tankers, vacuum trucks, lowbeds, and trailers
· Coordinate emergency breakdown response, including remote and off-road locations
· Maintain accurate, audit-ready records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs
· Investigate vehicle-related incidents and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions
· Liaise with workshops, OEMs, and approved service providers
· Monitor vehicle condition, performance, and lifecycle costs
· Control spare parts inventory and maintenance budgets
· Train drivers on vehicle safety checks, defect reporting, and HSE compliance
· Ensure vehicles meet fitness, certification, and insurance requirements
· Support internal and external audits related to fleet safety and maintenance
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Responsibilities
· Enforce zero-tolerance policy for unsafe vehicle conditions
· Ensure compliance with company HSE procedures and regulatory standards
· Participate in HSE meetings, toolbox talks, and safety campaigns
· Report and investigate near-misses, incidents, and hazards related to vehicles
· Promote a strong safety culture across fleet operations
Required Skills & Competencies
· Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck mechanics and diagnostics
· Experience with hazardous material and oilfield vehicles
· In-depth understanding of HSE, PTW systems, and safety compliance
· Ability to work in high-risk, remote, and time-critical environments
· Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills
· Cost control, vendor management, and documentation skills
· Effective communication with drivers, HSE teams, and management
Qualifications
· Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering
· HSE certification (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) preferred
· OEM or specialized vehicle maintenance certification is an advantage
Experience
· Minimum 5–8 years of experience in truck or fleet maintenance
· Prior experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or hazardous operations preferred
Working Conditions
· Field-based role with exposure to oilfields, depots, and workshops
· On-call availability for emergency breakdowns
· May involve remote site assignments and shift work
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
