Vehicle Maintenance Technician

  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics using schematics, electrical testing, and automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues with engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, HVAC systems, and more.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and farm machinery to ensure peak operational performance.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and fabrication techniques to repair or assemble vehicle components with precision.
  • Service and repair diesel engines, shocks & struts, brake systems, wheel alignments, tires including tire service and replacement procedures.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs using schematics for complex machinery.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as fluid changes, filter replacements, hydraulic system servicing, and suspension adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards by inspecting air brake systems and performing heavy lifting with proper safety protocols.
  • Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed; communicate effectively with team members to coordinate service schedules.
  • Assist in the assembly or disassembly of equipment during repairs or upgrades; support welding projects as needed for fabrication or structural repairs. Experience
  • Proven experience working as a mechanic or service technician in a dealership or heavy equipment environment.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive repair including transmissions, HVAC systems, electrical diagnostics, brake repair, wheel alignment, hydraulics, suspension systems, and diesel engine repair.
  • Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers and farm machinery is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring and hydraulic systems; ability to interpret technical manuals effectively.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools (including welding equipment), soldering tools and other maintenance-related hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high attention to detail during repairs or inspections.
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge complemented by strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members about repairs or maintenance needs.
  • Certification in automotive diagnostics or heavy equipment operation is a plus; ongoing training in new technologies is encouraged to stay current in the field. Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
